We are a Swiss, 70 employee specialised engineering consultancy partnering with technology firms throughout Switzerland. We provide senior engineering leaders access to additional expertise to execute work packages and accelerate critical projects.
Role Description
As a Senior Project Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for meticulously developing and managing project schedules, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure the completion of projects. They are critical in coordinating tasks, optimising resource usage, and mitigating potential delays.
Responsibilities
- Program and maintain master schedules for large capital projects, develop reporting and critical path analysis independently.
- Liaising with site construction teams and other related professionals.
- Monitor project timelines and adjust as needed to ensure completion.
- Identify shortcomings and advise on action plans on cost-reduction efforts.
- Work very closely with the Project Director to plan, schedule, and program several major projects in Primavera P6 simultaneously.
- Maintain accurate project documentation such as resource plans, change orders, labor, and expenses.
- Create project planning engineering function from scratch, ultimately building a team.
Mandatory Requirements:
- BSc or equivalent in Mechanical/Chemical/Process/Plant Engineering or similar.
- At least 15+ years’ experience in project planning/scheduling role within the Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Energy or Pharma sector.
- Demonstrated engineering experience in delivering technically challenging construction projects internationally.
- Expert level usage of Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis, Microsoft Project, Acumen Fuse and the ability to train a team in the use of these.
- Experience of manufacturing planning/scheduling in the machinery/mechanical engineering industry or similar.
- Experience in direct customer-facing role, as well as ability to communicate at different corporate levels up to and including C-Suite within multinational energy companies.
- A practical-minded solutions-orientated attitude coupled with excellent communication and people skills.
- Native level English language skills are essential, additional languages are beneficial.
- Intercultural understanding and experience working on different projects Globally.
- Willingness to travel to the UK, Dennmark, Norway the Middle East and South East Asia at short notice.
